What is this part called? (Honda Passport, with pictures)

it is located, behind the fan blade, one left one(pictured), and one right one, not pictured,,,,that join in middle at the bottom...u can see by other pic that the 2 pieces are not joined, but should be.....i am sure its not ok like tghis but is there any harm?

    Those are plastic covers over the timing belt cog on your cams. Behind them is the timing belt path.
    There are actually double cams behind there.
    I have 1998 Passport and just finished an engine rebuild.
    Timing belt tensioner pulley bolt caught put back on too tight with too much tension. Tensioner broke off, belt went slack, threw timing off and caused valve damage in head.
    Had to take off, rebuild heads again.

    The techs where I worked just hated Passports for a number of reasons.
