best oil? 96 Olds Ciera Sl.

I have a 96 olds ciera sl (not a cutlass ciera), 6 cylinder, high mileage but under 200,00; haven't had the car but for a about 6 months. Wanting to change oil, what brand is best for this car?

I use Supertech from Walmart or whatever is on sale at NAPA or CarQuest, etc. for my '97 and '99 vehicles (the '99 has 199k miles). The only thing I pay attention to is the weight and look for the API Starburst logo, as indicated by my owner's manual. GM has some funny requirements (Dexos stuff) but that started up in 2011.

Some guys think you should use one brand and stick with it, the rest of us don't much care.
Some mechanics think you should use a "high mileage" oil in an older car, but many don't think it makes any difference. There's a lot of marketing claims made about oil but for most passenger cars, just following the owner's manual will work out fine.

Pennzoil used to gum up engines horribly.
This may no longer be the case but I still won't use it. I remember pulling valve covers
and seeing goo so thick you couldn't see the rocker arms!5
