Check engine light flashes with no error codes stored. Isuzu Rodeo
A couple days ago my 2002 rodeo developed a problem. When I started it up the rpm's would jump from 1000 to 100 and act like it was going to stall. It never stalled but when at idle it would fluctuate wildly. Driving at normal speed was fine. It never misfired or sputtered. I didn't notice any loss in power or acceleration. It was only when starting it up or stopped that the rpm's would fluctuate. The check engine light would also come on and blink for like 5 or 6 times then go off. A few minutes would go by and then the check engine light would come on again and flash. It did that all the way home (12 miles).
I let it sit overnight and started it up the next morning and the same symptoms of fluctuating rpm happened so I let it sit over the weekend. When I started it up to take it to my mechanic 3 days later the rpm's were fine. No fluctuations but the check engine light did it's flashing on and off all the way there. The mechanic hooked it up to read the error codes and surprise, there were none. He started it up and drove it periodically throughout the day and never experienced the rpm drop out but did see the check engine light flash. Still no error codes.
Has anyone else experienced this?

I have a 2000 Rodeo and when it rains it just stops while driving it? I stalled on me like 9 to 10 times i have to put it in neutral and it starts back up, I took it to the shop and they couldn't find anything wrong with my truck, Got it back drove it just fine and decided to wash it, BIG MISTAKE it died in the car wash and it died and the end of the car wash and now wont start back up, all the lights come on inside while driving at times and it acts like it wants to cut out but stutters and keeps going . I dont know what to do?
Has anyone managed to solve the erratic idle of the 10+ year old Rodeo? I have seen some forums that mention alot of possible fixes, but I haven't seen anyone with an ironclad solution. Maybe it is the fuel injection computer?
Phil.... do you know how the problem is fixed?
Thanks in advance.
