2001 Honda Insight cruise control
Is there such a thing is an after market cruise control for an Insight, if so is it safe to install on such a small engine for 500 plus mile trips ? ?

It's not necessarily the engine size which would be troublesome, but you are indeed correct to sense extraordinary risk. Please avoid any sudden moves, turn around, and walk away from your idea.

Have to say I personally never really trust add-ons like this (and remote starters and aftermarket alarm systems). Seems like they always get flakey after a few years. But I'd hate to have to drive a car without cruise so I'd probably go for it (but I'd try to find a good shop to install it).
