Loud noise switching gears/grinding noise when accelerating. 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited with 165k on it. When switching gears from Park to Drive its very loud and grindy. When stepping on the gas it sounds as if its in neutral but is moving gets louder the faster I go. If i switch gears slowly going form park to reverse to neutral then drive the car drives quieter but going over 40mph it starts to have this grinding noise and slight vibration at the gas pedal. I just got an oil change, wheel alignment, front and back brakes and rotors and a fan clutch. Any ideas to what is going on I'm afraid its the transmission or it will be an expensive repair. Any help I would appreciate. Thank you!
