Interesting how they want you to replace the differential fluid so early... at only ~15000mi!

That is early for the diff fluid. I replaced my diff fluid with a fully synthetic one that has a much longer change interval.

I've yet to replace the differential fluid in my 2008 RDX, which also has SH-AWD in 50k miles of driving. All my MID notices have not had a "6".

When the MDX goes in for the routine service, ask them to remedy the whirring problem noted several times in the long term test. It is a problem for thousands of MDX owners. It seems Honda's first attempt at a direct injection engine has not been a smooth roll-out. Many 2014 owners are complaining and Acura is brushing them off.

I'm curious too on the early change on the DPSF fluid.
Although on Hondas with the Dual Pump Fluid (similar if not the same as DPSF) they had issues in the past rear differentials getting loud and sometimes shuddering while turning if the fluid wasn't changed often enough. They have a procedure for burnishing the clutches after a change if it gets bad enough that the fluid change doesn't fix it.
I wonder if this is preventative to fix that.
