TPMS Light on Honda Fit

I took delivery of a new 2013 Honda Fit on Monday 5/23/14; they had just a few 2013s on the lot they were clearing out and I got a really good deal on it. When I was test driving it, the TPMS light came on. I mentioned it to the dealer and they had it fixed for me the next day when I drove it home.

The car then sat in my garage for several days while we were out of town. Next time I drove it (Wednesday), within five miles the TPMS light came on. This is under normal, dry, highway conditions. On Saturday I took it to the dealer and the tire pressure was fine so they recalibrated it and off I went.

Monday morning, again about five miles from home the light came back on!!!

I have never owned a Honda before and this is kind of leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I'm kind of regretting my purchase. My last car (a very basic 2002 Toyota Echo) was purchased new and I drove it for almost 12 1/2 years with not many problems. Now I get a new car with all these features that I've never had before and immediately something starts acting up.

Looking online, it seems that I am not the only Honda owner dealing with this problem.

How about any of you??? I would appreciate your feedback and experiences.

Oh!!! When I took it in last Saturday to have the dealer look at it, the service guy told me that smart phones interfere with the signal on the TPMS, that I should turn my blue tooth feature ON on my phone when I am in my car (I don't use blue tooth so it's never on). He also said I should not put my phone near the center console because that's where the sensor for the TPMS is. I had the blue tooth on when the TPMS light came on on Monday.

I had the same problem with one tire on my 2012 Pilot, have your tires filled with Nitrogen. High humidity in air can cause TPMS errors. Plus humidity can rust out the TPMS sensors.
