2002 Chevy Malibu blower motor resistor

Could a bad blower motor resistor blow the blower motor relay? I had no ac/fan, gas gauge not working, power windows dead. Found blower motor relay in engine fuse compartment. Change relay and everything worked. The next day got in car and everything is dead again. Could the resistor be the problem?
