There is a hydrogen filling station near me in Burbank, and one coming soon in La Canada. Gives me something to think about next year, but not at the moment. Like Tesla has done with the EV, I want something closer resembling the hydrogen 7 Series BMW produced in 2007. Meaning I don't want an ugly Prius just because it's eco friendly, I want eco and fun to drive. I give Hyundai props though for coming to a mainstream market with something any consumer could obtain.
You'll never see a car like that. It actually burned liquid hydrogen which is stored in the car at -430 degrees, as opposed to these cars that turn hydrogen gas into electricity.
Plus the fact that hydrogen has to be produced (not cheap) and stored in the car between 5k and 10k psi to get any decent range.
Hybrid technology like the Prius is the best way to move forward, especially as Li-Ion batteries get cheaper. Pluggable hybrids are even better.
Unless you were just talking about looks, then yeah, these cars are ugly.
