    So the slower, less efficient, more expensive product with a smaller interior and truck wins because it drives prettier than the other? What woman wrote this article again?

    You need to decide what the average reader, and buyer, want in a compact. Lipstick on a pig, or a better car. You really said the Corolla is the better car, and a better price, but you wanted the Civic to win, so.....there it is.
