Not every storage space in our 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is huge. The center console has one very shallow compartment that's actually surprisingly useful.

    Is the surface textured so items don't slide around?

    I liked that it had the small center console right above the large one but there was one problem. The latch on the top is kind of tough to latch and if you open the bottom one and the top one is not properly latched, things go flying all over.

    What happens to these items when you try to access the bigger compartment below? Do they slide to the bottom?

    I had an Accord that had one of those coin organizers inside the console.
    That was a handy low-tech feature.
