The 2014 Mercedes Benz May be small on the outside, but the trunk space is a road trip lifesaver.

"From the Arizona/Utah border to Los Angeles on three-quarter of a tank of gas ain't bad." I really hate this type of comment, because it doesn't account for gas tank size (13.2 gallons in this case). Actual MPG on a round trip is far more informative.

I'm sorry, it sounds elitist, doesn't reflect the price point or what Mercedes is trying to do here or the context, but in truth the first thing that popped in my head when I saw this picture was, "Seriously? You're camping in a compact tent behind your new Mercedes Benz? This just seems wrong, very wrong." There, confession made, feeling better now.

I'm 61 and that's the way I've been camping since my teens, including a drive to AK in '73 in a VW Bug. Being able to putter down a forest service road to a wide spot, and then toting a tent 100' to the perfect patch of meadow overlooking a stream with no one around for miles - now that's luxury.

    Road Trip!

I agree, it seems incongruous at first. I felt strange, too, the first time I drove my M3 convertible into a campsite and unloaded our tent and sleeping bags from the back seat. But we enjoyed some fresh air and solitude for 1/10th the price of a nearby one-star motel and the next day had a beautiful top-down drive through the mountains.
