I disagree. I had the 2011, auto trans, and it nearly always had to downshift to pass, climb ANY hill. The 5-speed manual I have now is better, but not by much. Gear ratios WAY too wide. To be fair, once it hits about 4k rpm, it wakes up fairly well. I have about 44k miles on it now. Car needs the same, or better power figures from the tC.
