Child Seat Won't Fit - 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 Long-Term Road Test
My child safety seat will not fit in the back of our 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250.

usually you buy the child seat to fit your vehicle not the other way around.
I carry two seats in my CLA just fine... Edmunds editors get spoiled by different cars every day. Regular consumer would get another seat for $100-300 (I did not had to do that) vs. replacing the car he really likes for $30-40K....
Most car seats(not sure about this one) do not require the bottom of the car seat to touch the seat back in the forward facing position. A lot of them even allow up to 20% of the seat to hang off the front without affecting the child's safety.
Come on big spender, you're driving a new Mercedes after all. Spend the dough and get a $600 Mercedes DUO plus child seat.
We have a CLA 45 AMG with a front facing child seat. We picked up a Britax seat (same make as the rebranded MB child seat - but saves the logo markup) as you require a top tether that fits around the immobile rear headrests.
The top tether is very tight, I would say almost a defect, so we picked up a chain link at Home Depot that can withstand a high amount of force and makes the tether fit (in tandem with the two universal D-ring cartridges for the back-bottom of the seat of course). This makes it a breeze to remove the seat when needed.
Also with the fold down seat on the right side, you can fit two passengers, a child, and three snowboards plus boots in the CLA trunk, no troubles. :-)
