    If there's a Lexus equivalent to the Mazda3 it's the CT250h. Is that car much more of a "well-damped pothole eater than the Mazda?" I guess another care to compare would be something like the Mercedes CLA. I imagine that car has a better ride although reviews here have indicated that it's anything but Mercedes levels of refinement. Maybe a compact FWD car is just going to behave like a compact FWD car.

    the IS is just about as tight on the interior as the mazda 3 the is might have a bit more room tho the rear seat of the mazda 3 is VERY tight. as far as luxury hatchbacks go ... the Volvo V60 is all i can think of
