2015 Subaru Outback 3.6 engine
Bad move Subaru, for restricting the 3.6 engine solely to the expensive Limited trim.
Many of us Rocky Mountain folks need that bigger engine, but not with the Limited's bigger price tag, and collection of toys and gadgets we don't really need.
Please make the 3.6 engine available in the base and Premium trim levels ASAP. Otherwise I'll be ordering a Kia Sorento LX V6 instead.

That Kia is about $10,000 less than the Limited 3.6 Outback.....and reducing trim levels on the Outback still won't get you there. However, the Forester XT premium is a lot closer. It might meet your needs if you don't need the tow rating of the Outback. It is a sportier ride than the Outback and almost the same passenger space. My 2014 Forester XT easily outperforms a previous Outback 3.0 six.
