Ford Taurus '95 R.I.P. what should I / could I expect to get for it?
Ok. Last year someone in front of me did something illegal and my car is now R.I.P. Due to court and insurance stuff that had to settle I am finally junking it, but being a newb at this I am looking for advise as to what I might get for it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xAi3HAr3VU&list=UUyFIKzMvRJAHpfwf1m1yjmA
The air bags are also blown.
Engine has 103k miles car has 206k miles on it. Front struts replaced about a year and a half before accident. Pads reasonably good I think. Oil changed every 2-3k miles. All season tires about 80%. I could provide documentation to almost all of this if I really needed too.
Basicly I'm looking to get more then I could for it at the junk yard. 8 months ago I was offered $185 if I could get it there (they said I could take the tires off), considering parting it out on craigslist but I have no idea what to price it at. Advise plz

Seriously, your Taurus is of little to zero value.
Do you REALLY want to go through the folly of trying to part it out?
You will get very little response if any and you'll end up with the same car when it's done.
Time to move on.
I don't know enough to know that is IS folly, but tks very much for point this out to me. I didn't know anyone else who knew enough to tell me it was, which is why I took the time to post in a forum. if I could have gotten the answer somewhere else I wouldn't have wasted anyone elses time asking the question. However thank-you for the response. It was nice to finally get one.
You could offer it on craigslist as a "mechanic's special" - maybe someone else could use the tires and engine and then they'd be stuck with junking the rest.
What I'd be trying to avoid is having to pay a junk yard to take it off your hands.
heh, like I posted above, I was told they would pay ME $185 to bring the car to them. if you think im getting lucky just for that, then soon as I can arrange it towed ill do it. tks for the advice.
I recently sold my beater '99 Quest minivan. Had 200,000 miles on it and a dead AC, and some dents. The tires were good, and the engine was doing fine. Was happy to have a kid (and a budding mechanic) take it off my hands for $750.
I think I'd first try to get someone to give me $185 for the Taurus and have them arrange towing.
ok ill give it a shot
