1997 MGM loss of electrical power then died

I was driving down the road and the battery light came on. A little while later the ac shut on and off a few times, then off for good. Then my digital dash board shut down, then my radio shut down, then the car shut down. I had the alternator tested and it tested good. Going to have the battery tested for a short or open cell. Could a bad battery cause this? I don't really know what else this could be.
