Engine Tune-up

My 1999 Chevrolet Suburban has a slightly rough idle. It also falters slightly, at start up. However, acceleration and driving are smooth. Stop for a light and, again, rough idle. I have 91,400 miles on the vehicle. Chevrolet does not recommend a tune-up (change the plugs) until I reach 100,000 miles. If I do the tune-up now, will that solve the problem? Or, do I have another issue, such as bad spark plug wires or clogged fuel injectors? By the way, I periodically add Chevron's Techron , when I refill the gas tank. Would really appreciate your ideas.

Rough idle can be a dozen different things.
But realistically, if you are doing the work,it isn't extremely expensive to do a basic tune up.
But, the rough idle could be a vacuum leak, EGR valve problem, clogged air filter, catalytic converter problem, fuel filter plugging, fuel preeure regulator problem, and numerous other things.
A tune up is not s waste of money and a good place to start.
Plugs, plug wires, PCV valve, air filter, fuel filter and if it is distributer and not DIS ignition, then cap and rotor should all be replaced.
    Recommend replacing plug wires.

I think you are living on borrowed time with those plugs and wires. I personally will never buy the Delco wires again. Have had bad experiences with them for 20 years and multiple vehicles.
