Cause for worn sidewalls? Toyota Avalon.
OEM tires lasted 55K; replacement bridgestones had crmbling sidewalls after 30K; installed michelins, also now going out at 30K miles; driving not changed at all over last 10 years.....any ideas re cause? dealer puzzled.........thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could check the date code on the tires - maybe they were sitting around the warehouse a long time before you purchased them. Seems odd that you'd experience this on two different sets of tires though. Are you "detailing" the sidewalls frequently with something?
