Hello. I am new to the forum and hope this group can help me.

I have a 2009 BMW 325i that needs service. Both the ABS and Brake! dash lights are on, as well as the Check Engine light. I am afraid it will need extensive repairs, so I am hoping to be directed to an independent shop that will charge less than the dealers, yet provide good service.

I am in the area of Pembroke Pines / Hollywood / Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and would prefer to use someone local to me.

I think I have it narrowed down to either Ultimate Euro Repairs or Davie Motors - European Specialists. Both are near me and each has good reviews. I am open to other suggestions but am particularly interested in feedback about either or both of these shops. Thank you.

I think I might need a brake job, but would that cause the ABS and Brake! lights to go on?

For the Check Engine light, i have a fault code 2A87 DME: Exhaust VANOS, mechanism.

The Test Plan (Start of Diagnosis) says: ABL_DIT_B1214_NGNWA VANOS solenoid valve, exhaust; B1214_NG6NWA- Exhaust camshaft sensor; DME: Exhaust VANOS, mechanism

    Possible causes of fault:
VANOS solenoid valve, exhaust soiled or mechanically faulty
The plain rectangular compression ring of the camshaft has dug into the bearing strip.

Any idea what I am looking at in terms of repairs and expense?
