According to a letter I received from Hyundi, being an owner of a Santa Fe vehicle, this recall only applies to vehicles owned in the following states:
Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusettes, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia (the Salt Belt).
If you need further assistance, or have any questions regarding your vehiicle call the Hyundi Customer Care Center at: 1-855-671-3059
Even if you aren't living in one of the states mentioned above, you should still have your vehicle inspected to ensure your own safety.

Having lived in three states with one new car before, I hate it when they do that. Now I'm driving a Dodge in the sunbelt but it lived most of its life in salty Michigan. So why shouldn't I get notice and coverage if something rusts out on it and there's a recall?

I contacted Hyundai about my Santa Fe--I had already replaced the coil & sway bay--Well they put me through hoops in gathering information as the repair took place a year before. Another year has passed & not refund from Hyundai--not pleased--many phone calls--nothing--will never deal with them again & I have told all my family & friends--business that do not stand by their products should not be allowed to do business.
