Body work on new Accord

I recently purchased a 2000 Accord V4, and some jerk bumped it in my company parking lot.
Although its 1/2 inch long, the paint has come off and I can see the metal. Its been one week since the incident.

How long does it take to rust? Can I fix it myself by just touching up over it or should I take it to a body shop?

I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks

Where's the damage? How big is the damaged area? Any dents? It really depends on how much you would like the touch-up paint to look like the original. I'd just get a few estimates and then decide.

Time to rust? That's hard to say since it depends on the environment that you live... near the ocean or something then it would definitely rust faster.

I would defenitely take it to a prime body shop, but that's me. I care for my Accord V6. I can't stand for my car to be scarred in anyway. I've always been that way with my vehicles. I care for them better than for my wife probably.
