2500HD P/U VS 2500 Avalanche

I went to order a 2500HD ext cab SB LS, but found out that the new Avalanche is available in the 2500 series. While my main purpose is for snow plowing, the AV is shorter (easier to fit in the garage and helps w/ plowing in small lots) and might be more suitable for the family the remaining 9 months. My concern - will the AV hold up - while it built on the suburban frame - it seems to be built cheap - but not inexpensive. Been using a 92 K5 blazer for plowing, but it's getting tired and i have also the interior tends to get trashed from the weekend projects.

Interested in any pro's or comments of either trucks. Let's here your .02.

PS. Looking at the Boss V plow or Meyer CP7.5

Built cheap in what way? All the plastic?

Also if you want and need a truck now go with the 2500HD.

If you wanna wait a yr or two or three wait for the av.

I've already seen the 1500 Avalanche at the dealer. Can 2500 be far behind?

    at a dealer..

Problem is that a 2500 Ave has a hauling capacity more like that of a 1500 Pick up.

    No thanks

I thought the 2500 Avalanche had a 12000# towing rating. That's the same as the 2500 suburban and the 2500HD silverado. Is it not?
