ford f250 axles
I'm buying an f250 extended cab fwd with the v10 and want to know if anyone could give me info between the 4.30 axle ratio w/ limited slip versus the 3.73 ratio w/ limited slip. I want to know if gas mileage is significantly different or fairly equal. I'm going to pull a boat that's about 5500 lbs. Any and all info between the two would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I tow 7500 lb camper about 5000 miles a year, no sweat. I tow at about 75 mph.
I have towed Mom's 9800 lb camper too. Still no problem, but you notice the difference. Had to keep it at about 70 mph to keep from working it too hard.
And, lastly, if you ever go to bigger tires (like I did before I even got the truck home) the ratio will be effectively numerically lowered anyway.
