    I know that the Garmin model I have will. It may require being set to quickest or shortest route, and I think it can be configured to not do, as with ferries or highways.

    Was there someone in the passenger seat? I wonder if it senses their weight and knows to make that recommendation. If not, it should!

    I have an 09 Benz that won't do that. However, when I enter carpool only freeway entrances, it does warn me saying something like "restricted road access " etc. which is kind of nice. Also, it will warn about bridge tolls as you approach. My other car (a lexus) does not do either

    the Chrysler 300 kept sending me into the toll lanes until I went into the settings and told it not to do that.
