It's about time we get some efficient diesel SUV's.

With the new Chevy Cruze Diesel and the Ram 1500 diesel, we may be in an oil burning renaissance.

VW needs to toss the TDI in the Tiguan next.

The moment I saw and test drove one in the dealer lot I had to get it. While driving it home from Newport Beach CA to Temecula I averaged 39.3 MPG highway. It was averageing 27.5 MPG mixed driving in the week since I bought it. I already own a Jetta TDI for my roundabout and to have a heavier GLK match the HWY mileage of the Jetta surprises me. An MB dealership at Newport Beach CA was able to meet my USAA member price with right color and packages to match. MB Finance was also matching rates from my credit union. Sorry VW I would have bought a Tiguan diesel but the dithering of VW with diesel offerings is so annoying.

This is an amazing SUV the DCT transmission is fun in the sport mode
    ( I drive a Porsche 993 and wife has a 335 both sticks )

I am Military stationed in Germany I Ordered one after they let me drive
a German version for a weekend. 34 MPG at 80-100MPH on the Autobahn no problem to 130...

You do not need all the bells and whistles, the Base model with MBTEX feels just like leather ( 5th Mercedes with it ) and the Premium package
is way to expensive the sunroof a Novelty DONT ORDER the Multimedia
or Nav get it wired for the Becker and buy one on ebay $350 . Works better than the Factory unit. The lane stuff is over rated we had a Volvo with it and it drove us nuts

We ordered metallic paint, Heated seats and Zenon Light packages thats
it you should be able to come in at $40K if any discounts are given
That makes this SUV a bargain cuz you can't tell its a diesel.
