    This confirms what I have said for years, the USDOT just does not want you to see at night. Surely the whole point of high beams is that they ARE bright and the driver switches to low-beams when facing oncoming traffic. I am assuming that the auxiliaries only operate with the high beams. Please, how hard can it be?

    This doesn't make sense... I think the auxiliary lights are just cheap, low level Hellas. There are a multitude of DOT/SAE approved driving lights on the market that are far brighter than these units and high beam combined.
