    That's funny. I remember something happening around the middle of last decade happening that might impact the number of miles driven. Demographic shift? Hmm... no, those take decades, not months. Rain? No. Snow? No. What was it?

    Oh yeah! The Global Financial Crisis. That might be it.

    Those of us lucky to have any kind of work now have a McJob which doesn't require much of any commute, as opposed to the high-paying, benefit-having office job that tends to come with a commute.

    Maybe THAT had something to do with the miles driven plummeting.

    I wonder if this study considers the huge increase in DUI license revocations and other legal suspensions. Its becoming a rite of passage among this age group.
