    it has tremec because the SS has 1LE package. If it's not 1LE, you will have a chinese build Getrag that will break with none stock power i believe.

    That sounds an awful lot like you are describing the Mustang. The F-body V8 and current Camaro SS has been using Borg Warner/Tremec 6-speed manual transmissions exclusively since 1993.
