As a hardcore Porschephile, I've to to be honest... this is a bit of a bummer but take a moment and realize that a very, very small percentage of new 911 owners actually do their own maintenance anymore. The reality is that this issue is a bigger one for the second hand owners. Once these cars are out of warranty and the more expensive maintenance starts creeping in the inability to access the motor easily will be a bigger PITA.
