As a hardcore Porschephile, I've to to be honest... this is a bit of a bummer but take a moment and realize that a very, very small percentage of new 911 owners actually do their own maintenance anymore. The reality is that this issue is a bigger one for the second hand owners. Once these cars are out of warranty and the more expensive maintenance starts creeping in the inability to access the motor easily will be a bigger PITA.
  • the Porsche dealer--now he/she is giggling with delight. the mechanic, well, probably not so much.
  • That's pathetic. Looks like porsche has positioned themselves, like apple, as a purveyor of high end disposable products.
