This article indicates that the 2010 Toyota Prius has a CO2 impact of 0.55 pound of CO2 per mile. The weight of the gasoline used is about 0.05 pound per mile. Would you clarify how the additional 0.5 pound of CO2 per mile is calculated?

You should mention that the Prius uses over 1000 Gallons in production and transportation for just one car. Also, by buying this car you are also helping add to the poisonous environment in Canada (where the nickel mine is), India (refinery), China (refinery and rare metals mining) and Japan (production). One average sized shipping container ship burns in excess of 1660 Gallons of heavy fuel (the un-efficient kind) per hour. one gallon moves the ship 8 inches. So, in conclusion if you are going to talk about "green" vehicles try doing the background research and find vehicles that are actually GREEN.
