    It actually seems perfect that they would calibrate the brightness level to match the conditions when seat coolers are most likely to be used. Have you checked how bright the seat heater lights are?

    You can dim the lights... look below the driver side air vent..

    Most folk run with the IP lights way too bright IMHO. Then there are the manufacturers who cannot get the balance right. Nissan royally fouled up the lighting in the Xterra. You have to put up with sunburn from the IP to get the radio bright enough.
