Loved this article. I am happy that the industry is changing so that it is a pleasant task to buy a car. I have always hated dealing with car salesmen. You always felt like you were not getting your best deal. After buying a car you had to go home and take a nap from the deal and still did not feel you were getting the best deal.
I love the internet buying and checking out cars. Will use it for all my buys. I also love Rae's points on car buying.

I think the long-ago manager who gave Rae her first job in auto sales knew he was interviewing a spirited one. When he asked Rae what made her think she could sell cars, Rae answered with a question of her own- "What could be so hard about it?" His best reply was to give her the job. And maybe laugh. The success she's had since that day has never surprised anyone who knows her.

I have been in the car biz for 30+ years. I have held most every position in the retail end. For the past 12 years I have been a Internet kind of sales manager guy.

I also have always agreed that we would do a lot better if we at
least tried to do it the customers way. Thank God, for the past 12 years I have been able to do that and my personal stess to profit ratio has been the better for it. And, the 2 stores I have represneted have also been the better for it.

Thank you Edmunds for making public Rae's story and views.
