I really can,t believe with all these rocket sciencetists trying to make backing up a safer maneuver that they can't figure out that if the volume on the autos radio would automatically lower when in reverse the driver would be more likley to pay attention to other saftey features in auto such as cameras and soley concentrate on backing the vehicle in reverse while also being able to here outstde sounds warning them of things that a camera may not be able to detect. Most of us are born with this detection system. This would automatically make many people safer drivers.Comments to volumereducer@hotmail.com

I do agree with diorio that the manufacturers should make the radio volume lower when a vehicle is reverse. That's a grand idea.

On the topic of the cameras themselves, I think these are simply fantastic. They not only have increased the safety in cars but have created a completely new market and many, many jobs.

One must be careful, however, when buying a backup camera. They are not all equal. There's some real duds out there. Here's a site that does reviews of most of what is on the market: http://backupcamerareviews.net
