Egads, that's ugly! It looks like a Liberty and a Fiat 500 had a one-night stand and this is their misbegotten love child. Seriously, it looks like an Aztek left under a heat lamp. I drove an XJ Cherokee for 14 years but I would not be caught dead in this thing.

"Jeep has wisely given up on the Liberty and brought back the well-known Cherokee nameplate for a vehicle that's better suited to take on the latest crop of midsized SUVs and crossovers."

    ummmm.... no.
Cherokees were competent. This thing's a misshapen turd with the bodylines of a balloon animal and a headlight treatment borrowed from the Nissan puke. It's something only Walter White would drove - with his affinity for Azteks. The Cherokee died a noble death back in 01. This turd's pissing on its grave. They should name it the 'Bastardo Bambino' instead.

Apparently there isn't anybody left at the Jeep division that actually remembers what made the Cherokee a hugely successful and long lasting vehicle.

I just cannot get the Isuzu Vehicross out of my mind when I look at that car. Props for drastically changing the design language but it may be overboard

Geez, why the bias against vehicles that are named after Native American tribes/kingdoms? You don't like the Aztec (Aztek, I guess), and now you don't like the Cherokee. Pontiac itself is defunct. What's next, Winnebago?

@Greenpony. You're missing the point. The original -compact- Cherokee lasted from 1984-2001, it started the suv segment. It was lightweight, comfortable on-road, and competent offroad. It packed a bulletproof 4.0L engine, and it was easy to maintain. It w

Horrible looking vehicle. Will have to wait and see what mechanicals, etc. it has behind the hideous face, before final judgement is past. But, at the moment - yeuch!
