Having an on-board warning system to tell you when a tire low is a nice thing to have. The system in our Dart works great, maybe even too great.

Colour me confused. According to you the TPMS because the pressure "..was a couple pounds low", but that display suggests it is 5 pounds low. Where I was raised 5 is rather more than a couple. Is 34 PSI what it says on the door sticker? If so your other tyres are low, too.

That's 15% low. By my standards, that is significant.

I agree with the others; 5 lbs (or 15%) is low, and the TPMS did its job.

But I'm wondering why the tires lost so much air in such a short time.

What do you want it to do, Ed? Wait until it's 10 pounds low? What if you were losing air at the rate of 5 psi every half-hour? This way, it gives you around 30 minutes to find an air pump or a repair shop - do you want it to wait until you have like 5 minutes to do that before it tells you something's wrong?

5 psi seems more than reasonable.
