Conti DWS come in 285/35-19. They don't come in 235/40-19, but I imagine the 225/40 or the 245/40 would do fine. I don't know where you are taking the car, but I would suspect that for most road trips originating in southern California in late March, all-season tires would be a much better idea than winter tires. And in the real world, I don't imagine there are too many owners of this car who are spending $5k on winter wheels and tires to avoid the cost of a winter car, tires for it and insurance for it. I would be dumbfounded if even 5% of the owner base of this car has it as an only car - come on.
