I still listen to CD in my car! Mostly MP3s burned onto a CD-R. That's about as much music to last me a 5 hr trip, although I rarely do such long trips. Why spend $230 on an iPod when I can get the same functionality on a CD for less than $1?

The integration you talk about is a problem. I don't get it: are most car manufacturers now expecting customers to never upgrade their stereos?
