    What kind of mileage are you getting though? I have a feeling that if the Kia had the grunt to pull strong in sixth you wouldn't be doing as well in that department, so it just comes down to what's more important to you.

    I wouldn't be worried about the engine. The constant shifting on the transmission is just asking for trouble though

    @duck87 Once again, blame the EPA and their gas mileage tests. All manufacturers are going for intergalactic top gear ratios to get near the magic 40mpg highway figure, but you can guarantee that many cars will not pull that gearing very well under real-l

    @agentorange: Uh... no. The EPA doesn't have much to do with up and down hills since the test simulates speeds on flat ground. What the KIA doesn't have is good GRADE LOGIC to keep from shifting up and down.
