    Doesn't Prius C have regenerative braking? That should significantly extend brake pad life in stop-and-go

    Yes, and that probably should have been mentioned by the poster, because it impacts the owner experience, which is what this blog is supposed to do.

    So even if they had charged you, this HYBRID! got the same service with synthetic oil plus an inspection for a full $40 less than the utterly conventional Subie sans inspection. I thought the Impreza's service costs were just attributable to the People's Republic of Santa Monica. Guess not.
