    Comparing the base prices of the CR-V, Escape, and Rav-4, all 3 of which are FWD with automatic transmissions, is silly. The Forester has AWD and a 6 speed manual in the base model. And the Sportage, I believe, is much smaller inside than those mentioned above. Sportage? Why not the Mazda CX-5?

    Also, Autoblog has much more info than what is in this "article". And another comment: Please get rid of the "just the facts" and the redundancy.

    2.0l must be a magic size for turbocharged fours now, because it seems like everybody has or is getting one! (I love the 2.0l in my Escape too)

    @usa1fan: Obviously this has to do with the fact that rally specs mandate that engines must be 2L. Since most buyers of compact SUVs regularly compete in local rallies, this is a necessity.
