    Studies like this are silly. I would wager a large sum of money that many of these people are answering the questions based on principle, not with their true wishes. Put their money on the line and the answers would be much different. Of course someone is willing to give up 16% trunk space on a survey, but thats because in reality, they bought a vehicle with 300% of the capacity they needed that creates 30% more emisions than a car that better fits their needs. If people actually cared about this, the CUV/SUV market would be a niche at best, and everybody would be driving around in subcompact hatchbacks and wagons.

    Pay for less emissions? How about pay for more performance? Beware the politicians will find a way to tax this deal.
