    This is where the shift indicator should be set for a racing vehicle. Who wants a light and a buzzer constantly sounding as they're touring around their local track? And for street use, who wants a shift indicator at single rpm regardless of engine load or gear? No, there is no reason for this ever to be set lower than 7400.

    There should be an alert pushed to Toyota any time the indicator is set to 2000 RPM, so they can relieve the unworthy owner of the vehicle and reallocate it to someone who understands it.
