    I'm not sure what adding those little gripper bumps cost but they are the way to go. A GMC Terrain we rented when they first came out had those and they really do work well to allow for different size cups and to keep the metal water reusable mugs/bottles from rattling.

    How thoughtful of you to put in a link the Focus ST post...where about 9 out of 12 commenters point out to you that the car's cupholder assembly is missing the insert with the "flexible but very grippy rubber protrusions." I guess the new journalism setup, with bi-directional information flow - us learning things from you and you learning things from us, isn't jelling that well for some reason.
