Suzuki Motor of America is recalling 193,936 2207-'11 Suzuki SX4 and 2006-'11 Suzuki Grand Vitara vehicles because the front airbag may deploy even if a child is sitting in the passenger seat.

    our 2008 grand vitara is on the list and Suzuki has contacted us. our problem is geographical. the old Suzuki dealer used to be 20 miles away.
    That dealer closed now the nearest dealer is 100 miles away. we are retired and on a fixed income and we are unable to travel to take care of recall problem, besides why should we spend our money on Suzuki's mistake ? Suzuki can come to us or (perhaps) pay our travel expenses and maybe a replacement car while this one is out of service?

    One thing you could try is to contact Suzuki and see if they would do the recall work using a non-Suzuki dealer close to you. Maybe a GM dealer since Suzuki US used to have a relationship with them. That may be the best result you could hope for and even that's unlikely.
