    The S2000 does it in 9s down and 8s up. Obviously it is no longer made. But I'd be surprised if it can ever be beaten, given the quality of modern tops and the trend toward operation while moving.

    Mazda Miata. Takes two seconds to throw it over your shoulder and click it into its bay. Maybe five seconds to raise it.

    yaymx5 beat me to it (great screenname, by the way). No automated top has beaten my NC Miata for ease and speed of top operation. Up or down is a one-handed affair (though I've smashed my thumb on more than one rushed occasion at a stop sign).

    Is that lever supposed to evoke the engine cover?
