This isn't new for Chevrolet. I had a 1986 Chevette that stopped running all the time...

I'm thinking of purchasing a new Malibu. However the stop and start tech is scaring me away. Seems to be a lot of wear a tare on the starting system. Is this a proven system or another stunt by GM to sell cars??
