My question about this design is what if some bulkier cargo hits the switch if the car is in motion or something. I hope they engineered a way around this.
I own one of these and have had it for about 7 months,,,,it has to be one of most fun cars I've ever owned and I've had tons of cars. I have to admit I had a hard time pulling the trigger on $65000 but I would do it all over again. I drove it from Cheyenne, Wyo to Staunton Ill and averaged 19.2 mpg and that included blowing a few beemers and other cars off the road. The look on some of those guys faces was invaluable.
It seems like an unsafe place to put the button, as you'd be standing under the tailgate when you press the button, which could be bad if you don't clear out in a timely manner. When the button is on the tailgate, you are already standing clear of the tailgate when it starts to close.
