  • Nice article - many cars that I really like, but I need to point out that the Delorean is a rear-engine car, not mid-engined. Also, while it will bust your $25k budget to do so, the fine folks in Houston will sell you an updated engine for your Delorean that will boost the horsepower to about 200, for about $10k or thereabouts. It is a stock engine with polished ports and hotter cams, so it fits without complaint or issue into the engine bay.
  • How could you do an article on budget mid engined cars without mentioning the Fiat X1/9 which, for all intents and purposes, invented this segment?
  • The Delorean is not mid engined. The car that SHOULD be on this list is the 3rd gen twin turbo RX-7.

    This is an interesting article today, as due to a wildly speculative market, some of these cars can't be touched in nice condition for 25K.
